Since the 1930s, fiberglass batt insulation has been a common choice for excellent coverage. Although less effective than spray foam or blown-in insulation, batts offer a more affordable option for those on a tight budget. Fiberglass insulation, perhaps the most common insulation in our region, consists of extremely fine glass fibers that are bound together. Fiberglass insulation comes in two main forms – batts (or rolls) and loose-fill. Fiberglass batts come in a variety of dimensions and R-Values. Traditionally, we see fiberglass batts in walls, and loose-fill or blown-in fiberglass insulation in attics.
