Spray Foam Insulation

Benefits of Spray Foam Insulation:

There are two different types of spray foam insulation. Both types have different characteristics and applications making it really important to know the difference between open-cell and closed-cell. Armored is very happy to further explain any questions you have about the applications and the cost difference.

Open-Cell Spray Foam

Open-cell spray foam is a much softer type of foam because of the broken cells in its structure. The cells of the foam are open and can allow some moisture to pass through them, which can be good or bad depending on the application. Open-cell spray foam does a great job sealing air-tight, filling in and around wires, pipes and other obstacles due to its extreme expansion.

Closed-Cell Spray Foam

Closed-cell foam insulation is one of the most advanced insulation solutions available. Closed-cell spray foam is closed and tightly packed together making closed-cell spray foam dense and extremely strong. It will not absorb water or allow air to pass through it. Closed-cell spray foam tops the charts in insulating power with an impressive average of R-7 per inch. It also adds significant structural strength to your building.
The up-front cost of spray foam is more expensive in comparison to other insulation. However, the benefits can be felt immediately within the structure and the long-term cost savings on energy bills is outstanding!
